What I've seen so far:
Transformers 2(Went to it on Opening day and now own the (Special)DVD): The Revenge of the Fallen-like any good sequel it stays true to what happened in the first movie(no reconing there) and did one better. It even left us wanting more...Autobots, info on Sideswipe the ass Slicer from the opening of the movie that is. That and the others bots(Jolt, Arcee(and her 'sisters' )) . Anybody think/smell spin-off/origins movie(maybe not, but one can dream)? Like some reviewers have said it isn't too big on intricate story-lines(that's what the visuals are for in this film), but hey the Bot to Babe quotient was really 50/50(60/40?) this time and Michele Bay has a new series to work with...congrats to ILM and the other effects houses that worked on the film. Their machines gave body and soul to the movie(even dieing( 'melting down'/shorting out ) trying to render some of the characters(Devastator)). [Note: The "in movie" Cometary on the DVD is boring with Bay rattling on on about crap while the writers might have had something interesting to say... The rest of the extras are fine/OK]
District 9(Seen it in theaters): Immersible and original, both in look and telling of it all. Stands alone and yet has possible Squeal in its future. Slow to start, yet engaging with the visuals, with how common they make the "Prawn" seem and the realism brought to them, Jar Jar they aren't.... Strange is a common thing throughout mixed in with reality. Can't say much more, and I'm hoping they do a good DVD disc for this one.
Inglorious Bastards(Seen in it Theaters): Quentin Tarantino and his love of old styles of movie making and the genres he brings back. He does have a hit or miss record(who hasn't at some time in their life) but even his stinkers still have shine somewhere. All and all, the movie is neither historically correct nor too light hearted to be a joke. Tarantino likes putting in strange scenes if you can't stand his style of movie making, don't buy the DVD, nor watch it with your friends. Great ending, even after the end of Third Reich...
